The Psychology Practice was started in 2013 by Juazel, a Clinical Psychologist. At the practice we provide psychological intervention for a range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, adhd, autism, family difficulties, parenting skills and support, change of life difficulties, and so forth. Our focus varies between prevention and treatment as needed. Our passion is to work with individuals, groups and the community to create awareness of psychological difficulties and well-being.

She obtained a B.A. (General), Honours (Psychology) and M.A. (Clinical Psychology) at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. She has worked in a variety of contexts, the NMMU and Missionvale Community Clinics, Livingston Hospital, Elizabeth Donkin (Psychiatric) Hospital and the Department of Correctional Services before entering private practice.

Juazel is also a part time lecturer at Midrand Graduate Institue. She is passionate about training others in her field and aims to enhance learning by making theory more practical and applicable.

Her passion is therapy and assessment for children, adoloscents and adults with psychological difficulties and disorders. She believes in the importance of a collaborative relationship in providing psychological assistance and intervention.

She believes in working closely with clients using an integrative approach. An integrative approach allows for a variety of psychological therapeutic techniques to be used. The integrative approach for therapy and assessment further allows for focus to be placed on each client’s individual needs and strengths. Therefore, therapy starts with an assessment session where she works with the client to tailor the psychological treatment approach and therapeutic intervention to each client’s concerns.

Juazel uses techniques that stem from person centred therapy, psychoanalysis, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and child-parent relationship therapy.
