This activity set keeps my little one busy for quite some time as there are a few aspects to it. This is suitable from around 12 months, although practising to lace the cotton reels can be done sooner. From around 18 -24 months you can encourage baby to match the colours of the sticks to the colours of the cotton reels. In these photos Baby M is 15 months old.
What you need.
- Cotton reels
- Matching colour sticks
- Lace
- Tin with a hole cut out of the lid
This activity set keeps my little one busy for quite some time as there are a few aspects to it.
Firstly we start with lacing the cotton reels onto a shoe lace to make a necklace.
Then we move to using the coloured sticks to insert into the holes of the cotton reels. For older toddlers you can let them match the colour of the stick to the colour of the reel.
Lastly we post the cotton reels into the tin, which are often followed by the sticks.
Note she still has her necklace around her neck from the first activity. She really likes jewelry.
Here baby nr 3 is also enjoying the same activity!
